Refiner's fire

I miss blogging.

Life happens, as my title says, when we are going through a process of refinement, the refine's fire is meant to burn out the old and bring in the new, and according to http://www.thefreedictionary.com/refine  refine  is defined as the:

The process of removing impurities or unwanted elements from a substance. The improvement or clarification of something by the making of small changes.

Why do we need to be refined?

• To hear from God concerning our lives.
• To remove the impurities that hinders us from walking in our path.
• To repent from all our sins.
• To receive the holy spirit who is our ever present help but does not dwell in unrefined body
• To be able to bring acceptable offerings to the Lord.
• To be partakers of the gifts of the holy spirit

The Refiner's Fire:

• As I go through the refinement process, here are my study notes and bible verses (from God's Word Translation):

1. Malachi 3:2-- The Coming Day of Judgement

2 But who will be able to endure the day he comes? Who will be able to survive on the day he appears? He is like a purifying fire and like a cleansing soap.  3 He will act like a refiner and a purifier of silver. He will purify Levi’s sons and refine them like gold and silver. Then they will bring acceptable offerings to the Lord.  4 The offerings from Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the past, as in years long ago.

2. Malachi 3:6 --A Call to Repentance

6 “I am the Lord, and I do not change. That is why you descendants of Jacob are not already destroyed. 7 Ever since the days of your ancestors, you have scorned my decrees and failed to obey them. Now return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

3. Psalm 66:10

10 You have tested us, O God.

You have refined us in the same way silver is refined.

4. The Shepherd Struck, the Sheep Scattered

  9 I will put this third through the fire;

I will refine them as silver is refined

and test them as gold is tested.

They will call on My name,

and I will answer them.

I will say: They are My people,

and they will say: Yahweh is our God.”

5. Revelation 3:18-20--A Letter to the Church in Laodicea

18 I advise you: Buy gold purified in fire from me so that you may be rich. Buy white clothes from me. Wear them so that you may keep your shameful, naked body from showing. Buy ointment to put on your eyes so that you may see. 19 I correct and discipline everyone I love. Take this seriously, and change the way you think and act. 20 Look, I’m standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I’ll come in and we’ll eat together.21 I will allow everyone who wins the victory to sit with me on my throne, as I have won the victory and have sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 Let the person who has ears listen to what the Spirit says to the churches.

6. Job 28:1--Job Continues: Wisdom Is Inaccessible to Humans

1 “There is a place where silver is mined

and a place where gold is refined.
